Copying a Block of Elements

1.

Select the elements to be copied

2.

Use one of the following methods to copy the elements:

z

Right-click the selection and select Copy from the drop-down menu.

z

From the Edit menu, select Copy.

z

Press <Ctrl + C> on the keyboard.

Cutting a Block of Elements

When an element is cut, the element is not removed until it has been pasted.

Select the elements to be cut (see the "

Selecting Multiple Blocks

" and "

Selecting

Multiple Areas

" subsections above).

2.

Use one of the following methods to cut the elements:

z

Right-click the selection and select Cut from the drop-down menu.

z

From the Edit menu, select Cut.

z

Press <Ctrl + X> on the keyboard.

Pasting to a Single Location

A selected block of elements can be cut or copied, then pasted to a single location.

To paste a block of elements to a single location:

1.

Click the upper left-most element that matches the upper left-most element of the
area that you cut or copied.

2.

Use one of the following methods to paste the elements:

z

Right-click on the upper left element and select Paste from the drop-down
menu.

z

From the Edit menu, select Paste.

z

Press <Ctrl + V> on the keyboard.

In the figure below left, all of the processor blocks in the top two rows have been selected
(the upper left-most block is a filter block) and then cut or copied. In the figure below
right, the upper left-most block has been selected (also a filter block) in the area to which
the elements will be pasted. The first two rows will be pasted to the second two rows.
