SignalType

Enum

This control selects the predefined signal type of the input signal. If the input signal isn't any of the
predefined types, select "Custom". If the input signal is a clock, select "Clock". This list is defined in
a couple of external databases, in D:\Masks. We add to that list as new standards are released, it is
likely to have more entries than you see listed below. For example, we know we will soon add USB3
and PCIe 3.0 at 8Gb/s. Please look on your scope to see what choices are available.
When this is set to a known signal type, the bit rate is set to nominal for that standard; the allowed
choices of defined masks is set; and, for PCIE, some PCIE CEM spec defined choices of PLL
settings are allowed.
Custom does not have any defined masks or a known nominal data rate. So, for Custom you must
find or set the bit rate; and of course you can't do mask testing without a mask. All other
measurements work normally. It is possible to edit our mask database to define a type of signal we
didn't include, you can specify the mask as coordinates; then your signal type will be like any other
predefined signal type. The tool for editing the EyeMaskProperties database is
Maskdatabaseeditor.exe, it is installed on your scope. Please see documentation for that program, for
more information.
