If a scheduled automatic discovery task includes the deleted element, HP SIM will rediscover the

deleted element again during the next discovery.

If HP SE still lists the access point for the element, HP SE rediscovers the element the next time

during Discovery Data Collection/Get Details.

To remove systems from the HP SIM database:

1.

On the HP SIM home page, click Systems in the left pane.

2.

Select the elements you want to delete.

3.

Click Delete.

Discovery from HP SE
To remove items from the Discovery list:

1.

From the HP SIM home page, start the Storage Essentials home page, click Tools > Storage
Essentials

> Home on the HP SIM home page menu. The Storage Essentials home page opens

in a separate web browser window. Click the Discovery icon in the upper-right pane of the

Storage Essentials home page.

2.

Click Setup.

3.

Select Step 1 at the top of the page.

4.

Do one of the following:
• Select the IP addresses and/or IP ranges you want to remove from the list. Then, click the

Delete

button.

• Click the button corresponding to the elements you want to remove from the Addresses to

Discover list.

IMPORTANT:

The elements associated with these addresses are not removed from the

management server. See ”

Deleting Elements from the Product

” on page 95 for information

about how to remove an element from the management server.

Importing Discovery Settings from a File

If you have a previous discovery list you can import it, rather than re-entering the information.

Discovery from HP SIM
To import a list of hosts:

Refer to the HP SIM documentation for more information about importing a list of

discovered elements.

1.

Click Options > Discovery.

2.

Click the Hosts File tab.

3.

Click the New button.

4.

In the Hosts file name field, enter a name for the new hosts file. This field is required.
