Table 34 General XP Continuous Access Troubleshooting

Corrective Action

Error

Make sure that the problem is not being caused by the
computer or Ethernet hardware or software, and restart the
computer. Restarting the Remote Web Console computer
does not affect storage system operations.

Make sure that all XP Continuous Access requirements and
restrictions are met (for example, same LU type).

Make sure that the MCU and RCU and remote copy
connections are powered on and fully operational (NVS,
cache).

Check all input values and parameters to make sure that you
entered the correct information on the Remote Web Console
computer (for example, RCU S/N and ID, path parameters,
P-VOL and S-VOL IDs).

The Remote Web Console computer hangs,
or XP Continuous Access operations do not
function properly.

Call HP technical support for assistance.

An initiator channel-enable LED indicator (on
the storage system control panel) is off or
flashing.

Make sure that the correct CU is selected.

The pairs and/or RCUs are not displaying
correctly.

Resolve the error, and then try the XP Continuous Access
operation again.

An XP Continuous Access error message is
displayed on the computer.

Check the path status (RCU Status dialog box), and see

“Troubleshooting RCU Path Status Problems” (page 156)

.

The RCU path status is not normal.

Check the pair status (Detailed Information dialog box), and
see

“Troubleshooting Suspended XP Continuous Access Pairs”

(page 158)

.

The pair status is suspended.
