Control

Description

Enable/Disable Proxy File Service

Enable. Enables PFS.

Disable. Disables PFS.

Proxy File Service Configuration

Fully-Qualified Domain Name/Realm. The domain to which you want to make the
proxy file server a member. Typically, this is the same domain as your company’s
domain.

Domain Controller Name. Optional. Specifies the domain controller name, the host
that provides user login service in the domain. (Typically, with Windows 2000 Active
Directory Service domains, given a domain name, the system automatically retrieves the
domain controller name.)

Primary DNS IP. By default, this field displays the primary DNS IP set in the DNS
Settings page. To modify this entry, click the hyperlinked DNS name.

Domain Admin Login/Password. The domain administrator login and password.

Update PFS Configuration. If you change a setting in this group, click Update PFS
Configuration. The Management Console responds with a notification whether the HP
EFS WAN Accelerator successfully joined the domain.

Security Signature Settings

Security Signature. Select one of the following settings:

Enabled. This is the default setting. In this setting, PFS does not support clients with
security signatures set to required.

Disabled. This setting supports any type of security signature setting requested by the
client machine.

Required. In this setting, PFS only supports clients with security signatures set to
enabled.

Update Security Signature Settings. If you change a setting in this group, click Update
Security Signature Settings.

Idle Connection Timeout

Idle Connection Timeout ___ Mins. Specify a number of minutes after which to time
out idle connections. If there is no read or write activity on a mapped PFS share on a
client machine, then the window times out according to the value set in the Update the
Connection Timeout field and the client will have to re-map the share.

Update Idle Connection Timeout. If you change a setting in this group, click Update
Security Signature Settings
.

Local Administrator Settings

Local Admin Password/Confirm. Specify a password in the text boxes. You must use
the correct syntax for the administrator login name (for example:
admin_user@parent_realm) even if you belong to a subdomain.

Update Local Administrator Settings. If you change a setting in this group, click
Update Local Administrator Settings. The local administrator account can be used to
manage PFS files when the WAN is down.

NOTE: To change the ACLs on a share hosted by PFS, first map it using the local
administrator account.
