GENERAL COMMENTS

A routine maintenance program can extend the life of your pump. Well maintained
equipment will last longer and require fewer repairs. You should keep maintenance
records, this will help pinpoint potential causes of problems. A sample form is in
the appendix that can be copied and used for this purpose.

Bearing lubrication

Temperature monitoring

Vibration analysis

Discharge pressure

Routine Inspections

l

Check level and condition of oil through sight glass
on bearing frame.

l

Check for unusual noise, vibration, and bearing
temperatures.

l

Inspect pump and piping for leaks.

3 Month Maintenance

l

Check foundation hold down bolts of motor and
pump for tightness.

l

Change oil per section V-C.

l

Check alignment per section III-B.

Yearly Inspections

l

Check pump capacity, pressure, and power. If the
pump performance does not satisfy your process
requirements, the pump should be disassembled and
inspected. Worn parts should be replaced.
