Using Text
Working with Text Margins
By default, the text Layout Method is set to Type. This creates one long string of text
until you manually enter a line break. There are several ways to create and adjust text
margins, including using the onscreen controls and the Layout pane in the Text
Inspector. You can set a margin for text before or after it is created.
Margin Options
This group of controls, which becomes available when the Layout Method is set to
Paragraph, sets the size and location of the text margins.
Left, Right, Top, and Bottom Margins: Use these controls to set the margins for the
text layout in the Canvas. The Layout Method must be set to Paragraph to enable the
margin parameters.
Creating a Text Margin
You can create a custom margin using the Margin controls in the Layout pane of the
Text Inspector, or by drawing a text bounding box in the Canvas.
To create text margins with the Text tool:

Select the Text tool (or press T) and drag in the Canvas.
When you release the mouse button, a text bounding box appears.
