40. Install the remaining top and side wear pads and

shims to forward end of the boom assembly. Shim
until snug.

41. Install the boom length sensor (string pot) to the

base boom at the aft end of the assembly and con-
nect the measuring cable to the bracket on the tele-
scope cylinder barrel

NOTE: Ensure that the measuring cable ring retaining hard-

ware is assembled onto the bracket on the telescope
cylinder barrel. When handling the measuring cable,
do not allow sensor to freely retract the cable to the
end of its’ stroke at a fast rate. Always hold onto the
cable ring when allowing it to retract.

42. Install the boom length limit switch to the base boom

at the forward end of the assembly.

43. Install the jib assembly and the jib assembly level

cylinder.

44. Install the power track push tube to the outer mid

and fly boom sections and the push tube support
brackets to the inner mid boom section.

NOTE: Use shims at the fly boom and inner mid mounting

areas to align the push tubes with the remaining por-
tion of the power track assembly.

45. Adjust the wire ropes per JLG wire rope tensioning

procedure.

46. Install and adjust the proximity sensor to the outer

mid extend wire rope anchor weldment.

4.3 JIB ROTATOR ORIENTATION (1100SJP

ONLY)

In order for the Jib Rotator to rotate properly, it must be
installed with the timing marks running parallel to the flat
rotator mounting plate as shown below.

4.4 JIB LIFT END OF STROKE DAMPENING

The jib lift cylinder is constructed in a way that causes the
jib lift cylinder oil flow to be restricted by an orifice while
raising the jib within 5 degrees of maximum elevation. This
restriction slows the jib lift speed while raising the jib. The
oil flow is not restricted while lowering the jib and there-
fore the speed is not altered.

4.5 LOAD SENSING PIN REMOVAL AND

INSTALLATION

1. Place the machine on a firm, level surface.

NOTE: Replacing the load sensing pin requires the boom

sensors be re-calibrated. Make sure the machine is
in an area where this can be accomplished after
installation of the new pin.

2. Remove the screws from the bracket connecting the

engine tray to the hood.

3. Swing the engine tray out to gain access to the

sensing pin and retaining pin.

NOTE: The lift cylinder weighs 787 lbs. (357 kg.)
