Chapter 5 Troubleshoot the Module
Software Diagnostics In addition to the status indicators on the module, RSLogix 5000 software alerts
you to fault conditions. The software reports fault conditions in these ways:
• A warning icon appears next to the module in the I/O Configuration
tree ( Figure 16 ) when the controller-to-module connection is lost. If the
connection between the counter module and a peer output module is lost,
the counter module continues to communicate with the controller, and no
fault indication appears.

• The Module Info tab on the Module Properties dialog box displays the
module’s status along with major and minor faults ( Figure 17 ).
