Insert a recordable MD to MD1.

Open the MD cover, slide the disc into
the MD 1 slot, and then close the cover.

With the arrow

pointing toward

the deck

With the label
side up

The front edge of
the slot should be
even with the
edge of the MD.

Press FUNCTION rep>eatedly to
switch the function to CD.

Recording

Press SELECT SYNC.

"SELECT" appears, and the CD 1-5
buttons flash.

Press CD 1.

The CD 1 button lights green.

Press MDl.

The MD 1 button lights green.

Press ENTER/YES.

The MD deck stands by for recording
and the CD player is in pause for play.

8 Press 0^11 for the MD (or MD II on

the remote).

Recording starts.
The CD player and the MD deck both
stop when U^e recording is completed.

To cancel recording

Press SELECT SYNC during steps 5 to 7.

To stop recording

Press ■ for the MD.

Tips

• The procedure described here explains how to

record from CD 1 onto MD 1. To record from any
other CD onto any other MD. see "Recording your
favorite tracks" on page 37.

• If the MD is partially recorded, recording starts

after the recorded tracks. To erase the recorded
contents, see "Erasing recordings" on page 53.

• The CD/MD buttons for empty disc trays/slots do

not flash.

• You can adjust the recording level to the desired

volume after performing step 7 (see page 48).

• If you record on an unrecorded or completely

erased (see page 54) MD, the disc title assigned to
the CD (see page 31) is copied as it is to the MD
(Disc Memo Copy). Depending on the disc, CD
text information may also be copied. If "TEXT"
flashes during recording, press NAME EDIT/
CHARACTER, and then press ENTER/YES to
record the title of the current track, (If "TEXT" is
lit, it is automatically copied.)
