Starting recording

with 6 seconds of

prestored audio data

Time Machine Recording

When recording from an FM or satellite
broadcast, the first few seconds of material
are often lost due to the time it takes you to
ascertain the contents and press the record
button. To prevent the loss of this material,
the Time Machine Recording feature
cor\stantly stores d\e most recent audio data
in a buffer memory. This lets you record the
sound from 6 seconds (12 seconds for
monaural recording) before starting
recording, as shown in the illustration below:

Insert a recordable MD, then press
MD D.SKIP on the remote
repeatedly so the button of the
desired MD lights green.

You can record on any of the MDs in
MD 1 - 5. If the MD has been partially
recorded, recording starts after the
recorded tracks.

Press REC MODE repeatedly until

"IDISC" appears.

To make a monaural recording, select

"MONO". For details, see "Monaural
recording" on page 49.

Press FUNCTION repeatedly until

"TUNER" appears.

Press REC.

The MD deck stands by for recording.

Press ENTER/YES at the point you

want to start recording.

Recording of the source starts with the
6 seconds of audio data stored in the
buffer memory..
