The unit does not operate properly.

•Turn the POWER switch off, then turn it on again.

Problems when receiving

international facsimiles.

•Shorten your OGM to 10 seconds or less.
•FAX RX SPEED may need to be set to 4800 bps.

PROBLEM

CAUSE & REMEDY

The unit does not work when any

button is pressed.

•Turn the POWER switch off, then turn it on again.

The unit has been set to the
TAD/FAX mode, but no
voice-messages have been recorded.

•The tape is not installed properly or is broken

(cut, worn out or twisted). Install the tape or
replace it with a new one.

When the tape is played, the sound

level is low or nothing can be heard.

•Raise the sound level using the VOLUME

control.

•Clean the head of the cassette deck

compartment. See page 6-5.

I have played back all the recorded
messages and I want to record the
next call after the last message.

•Leave the unit as it is after hearing the messages.

I cannot retrieve recorded messages

from a remote phone.

•Make sure that you use your REMOTE TAD ID

number correctly,

•When you press your REMOTE TAD ID number,

press the buttons firmly.

Some voice-messages have not been

fully recorded.

•Set the calling party control (CPC) to

“B”. See

page 5-3.

When a caller hangs up after leaving
a message, the tape does not stop.

•VOX TIME should be set to 4 seconds. See page

5-7.

The unit does not ring.

•Set the RINGER volume selector to the HIGH or

LOW position.
