other monaural source is being
played in a surround mode other

• The speaker selector has not

been set to the correct position.
(It is at OFF or B.)

• Sound is heard from the center

speaker. There is nothing wrong
with the unit.

• Set the speaker selector to the

correct position.

There is no sound
from the center
speaker.

The surround mode is set to
STEREO.

When the surround mode is set
to STEREO, no sound is emitted
from the center speaker. Set unit to
another surround mode.

Center = None is selected on the
Speakers Size menu.

Set Center to Small or Large.

from the surround
speakers.

The surround mode is set to
STEREO.

When the surround mode is set to
STEREO, no sound is emitted from

• The subwoofer is not turned on.

• The subwoofer level is too low.
• Subwoofer = No is selected on

the Spearkers Size menu.

• Turn on the power to the

subwoofer.

• Raise the subwoofer level.
• Select Subwoofer = Yes.

• Front = Large and Bass Mix

= Mix have been set on the
Speakers Size menu, and an
analog or PCM source is being
played.

• When the Bass Mix = Both

setting is selected, the bass
components are played from the
front speakers and subwoofer,
and the sound heard may be
unnatural because of interference.

any LFE or sound in the low range.

ES/EX mode cannot
be selected.

playback depending on the
component. There is nothing
wrong with the unit.

on a DVD player,

skipping, etc., is
conducted.

Depending on the player, the digital
signal may be interrupted when
a track is skipped. The beginning
of the song may be slightly
interrupted in order to determine
the surround system.

If using such a DVD player, you
can play back the audio without
problem by using an analog
connection.
