Replacing the drive fan pack

>>> CAUTION: Handle a drive fan pack gently and use an ESD wristband. Do not

remove a faulty drive fan pack until you have a replacement unit available. You can
remove the drive fan pack while the PFC 500/E is powered up. While the pack is
removed, the Cooling Check light on the power supply flashes. If the pack is
removed for more than two minutes, the disk modules power down and the RC(s)
go into standby mode. The disk modules power up when you reinstall the drive fan
pack.

To remove the drive fan pack

As soon as the pack is disconnected from each power supply, the drive fan pack Check
light turns off, if it was not already off; the PFC 500/E Check light on the front panel
turns on, if it was not already on; and the Cooling Check light on each power supply
flashes.
