Measuring workpiece dimensions
Select the SURFACE = DATUM probe function.
Move the probe to a starting position 1 near the first touch point.
SURFACE = DATUM
X + X – Y + Y – Z + Z –
Select the probing axis and direction.
Probe the workpiece.
If you will need the current datum later, write down the value that appears in the DATUM display.
DATUM X =
Set the DATUM to 0.
Terminate the dialog.
Re-select the SURFACE = DATUM probe function.
Move the touch probe to a starting position
