Using Configuration Menu Passwords

Once a menu is password protected, you can’t enter the menu or make
changes in it until you enter a valid password.

5"

Password protection does not prevent software commands from
changing functions.

If a password is required to enter the Operator Control or Administration
menu, the message window displays

ENTER PASSWORD

when you use the Select key to enter the menu. Enter the password, or
press the Menu key to return to the previous menu.

If you enter an invalid password, the message window flashes

INVALID PASSWORD

for three seconds and then returns you to the configuration menu.

If you forget the password, repeat the procedure in “Setting Configura-
tion Menu Passwords” on page 152.

Time-of-Day Clock

The time-of-day clock provides time and date information on the startup page
and in the accounting data.

Installation

Attention

It’s very important to protect the printer controller board and any
associated circuit boards from electrostatic damage. Before performing
this procedure, review the antistatic caution on page 113.
In addition,
always handle circuit boards by the edges only.
