Table 2 XP Disk Array Modes for TrueCopy for Mainframe (continued)

Description

Mode

TrueCopy for Mainframe – Allows you to update the VOLSER and VTOC of the R-VOL while the pair is
suspended if both mode 20 and 190 are ON.

190

Allows you to select whether the Remote Copy Path status, SIM218x, will be reported to the host or not.

Mode 308 ON: SIM218x will be reported to the host.

Mode 308 OFF: SIM218x will not be reported to the host.

308

TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous − Allows you to select whether to generate SIM when the sidefile
of TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous, Compatible XRC, and CC reaches high-water mark (HWM
= sidefile threshold - 20%. See mode 93). This mode takes effect on the volume to which the inflow control
is not set.

Mode 464 ON: Generate SIM.

Mode 464 OFF: No SIM generated.

The SIM generated according to Mode 464 ON is same as Mode 118 ON. If both Mode 464 and
Mode 118 are ON, the SIM will be generated for the volume that was detected to have reached high-water
mark earlier.

The reported SIM when this mode is ON is reported per CLPR.

464

Allows you to select the indication type if you use the PPRC CQUERY command to display the remote
copy path status.

Mode 484 ON: The status of path as using the Fibre Channel interface will be displayed. WWNN will
be indicated.

Mode 484 OFF: The status of path as using an ESCON interface will be displayed. WWNN is invalid.

If the former type storage system or the storage system of XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array microcode
version 50-05-XX-XX or earlier is connected, mode 484 must be OFF.

484

Allows you to select whether to check the status and consistency time (C/T) of the TrueCopy for Mainframe
Asynchronous pairs if TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous R VOLs are shared with the ShadowImage
for Mainframe S VOLs and if the split option is going to be executed on the ShadowImage for Mainframe
pairs.

Mode 697 OFF (default): The TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous pair status and C/T will not be
checked. The split operation on the ShadowImage for Mainframe pair is automatically started.

Mode 697 ON: The TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous pair status and C/T will be checked. The
split operation on the ShadowImage for Mainframe pair is begun only when all of the TrueCopy for
Mainframe Asynchronous pairs have agreed on the condition. For details about the check, see

“ShadowImage for Mainframe” (page 54)

.

697

Enable this option when using the basic HyperSwap function of TPC-R, (IBM software for disaster recovery).
The TPC-R Basic HyperSwap function may allow the CESTPATH operation to establish a path to several
RCUs at the same time. Since attributes of a port are switched if the CESTPATH operation is performed
with the system option mode 144 ON, the path status between the main and remote system is changed
to linkdown. If the CESTPATH operation is performed to two or more RCUs at the same time, MIH may
be reported to a host as the other CESTPATH operation, which has detected the linkdown path, retries
the CESTPATH operation.

To disable an MIH report to a host, set this system option mode to ON to disable the CESTPATH to retry
the operation when a linkdown is detected.

Mode 769 ON: Does not retry when linkdown is detected during CESTPATH operation.

Mode 769 OFF: Retries when linkdown is detected during CESTPATH operation.

769

Allows you to select whether to output the F/M = FB message to the host of MCU when the suspension
or the release operation is performed from Business Continuity Manager to the R VOL of TCz or TCzA
pair in the Duplex status.

Mode 776 ON: The F/M = FB message is not output.

Mode 776 OFF: The F/M = FB message is output.

This mode must be set to both MCU and RCU.
