Corrective Action Error
If the controller emulation type of the host that is connected
to the main site is 2105 or 2107, and a TCz pair
(synchronous or asynchronous) exists, the IEA498I message
that indicates the path blockade may be reported to the
host when you change the microcode of the main site or
the remote site online. If the IEA498I message is reported,
confirm the path and the pair status of the main site. The IEA498I message is reported when you change the
microcode online.
The RIO (remote I/O) could not complete due to the failure
at the RCU. RIO failure
Error Codes and Messages
The TrueCopy for Mainframe software displays error messages when error conditions occur during
TrueCopy for Mainframe operations (see
“Failed Delete RCU Operation Error Message” (page 187) ).
The error message describes the error and provides a part code and an error code (Part Code =
6005, Error Code = 8736 in
“Failed Delete RCU Operation Error Message” (page 187) ). The error
message may also include an HP disk array SVP error code. If you need to call the HP technical
support for assistance, report the TrueCopy for Mainframe and SVP error codes.

Delete RCU failed because the RCU still contains one or more pairs with the current MCU.
SIM Reporting
The HP disk array reports a service information message (SIM) to the host when it is necessary to
notify the user of a possible service requirement for the storage system. The SIMs are classified
according to severity for reporting and logging purposes: service, moderate, serious, or acute.
The SVP reports all SIMs related to TrueCopy for Mainframe operations, and all SIMs are stored
on the SVP for use by HP personnel. The SIMs reported to the zSeries and S/390 host are logged
in the SYS1.LOGREC dataset of the host operating system. Each time a SIM is generated, the
