The CESTPATH RESETHP option rejects the host I/O operations. Before you use the RESETHP
option of the CESTPATH command, stop the I/O operations from the host.

The 'lss' parameter of the PPRC command depends on the CU emulation type. Set the 'lss'
parameters as follows:

If the package connected to the host is 2105 or 2107 CU emulation type, set the 'lss'
parameter for both the MCU and RCU.

If the package connected to the host is 3990 CU emulation type, do not set 'lss' parameter
for MCU or RCU.

2105 or 2107 CU Emulation Type of MCU: When the CU emulation type of MCU is 2105 or 2107,
and a host system is online to R-VOL, even if you want to create a TC-MF pair by using the CESTPAIR
command, the CESTPAIR command is rejected. If you use the ONLINSEC(YES), you can create a
TC-MF pair even though a host system is online to R-VOL. If you do not use the ONLINSEC (default),
or if you use the ONLINSEC(NO), you cannot create a TC-MF pair. If RCU does not support the
2105 or 2107 CU emulation type, you cannot check whether a host system is online or not. In
this case, if you use the CESTPAIR command, and both MCU and RCU fulfill the following condition,
specify the ONLINSEC(YES).
MCU is XP disk array, and the host on the MCU side is connected to the package of 2105 or
2107 CU emulation type.
If you use PPRC command and register 0xFFXX to SSID of MCU and RCU, the command may be
rejected. Specify excepting 0xFFXX. (XX of 0xFFXX is given in hexadecimal.)

CAUTION:

The QUIESCE option of the CSUSPEND command has been disabled by APAR

OW15247 or APAR OW15248. See either of these APARs and the latest IBM PPRC documentation
for detailed information on the QUIESCE option of the CSUSPEND command. Check with your HP
service representative before using the CSUSPEND command with the QUIESCE option to suspend
TrueCopy for Mainframe pairs on XP storage systems. If the CSUSPEND command with the QUIESCE
option is issued to certain volumes (for example, active SPOOL, PAGE, or CATALOG datasets,
active SYSRES volume), the attached host(s) may enter a deadlock condition and may require a
storage control IML to correct the condition. TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous does not
support the CSUSPEND/QUIESCE option.

Using PPRC TSO Commands with TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous

For TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous operations, special switches and parameters are utilized
to control and monitor TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous pairs and groups using PPRC
commands. This section describes this special use of PPRC TSO commands for TrueCopy for
Mainframe Asynchronous volumes on XP disk arrays.

“Typographic Conventions for PPRC TSO

Commands” (page 196)

describes the typographic conventions used for the PPRC TSO commands

described in this section.
PPRC TSO command parameter support depends on the emulation (for example, 2105 or 3990).
PPRC command extensions are supported when running with 2105 or 2107 emulation.
The DEVSERV PATHS command displays the pair status of a TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous
volume in the DC-STATE field. The contents of this field are the same as for TrueCopy for Mainframe
Synchronous. Note that the TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous transition states (suspending
and deleting) are not displayed.
This section does not specifically address the equivalent PPRCOPY ICKDSF commands. Use caution
when issuing ICKDSF commands to TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous volumes, and see IBM
publications Advanced Copy Services (SC35-0355), DFSMS MVS V1 Remote Copy Guide and
Reference (SC35-0169)
, ICKDSF R16 Refresh User's Guide (GC35-0033), and other IBM documents
on ICKDSF R16 or later.
