Remote copy connections − Fibre Channel:

Multimode or single-mode optical fibre cables are required at both the MCU and RCU.

For distances from 0.5 km to 1.5 km (1,640 to 4,920 feet), multimode shortwave Fibre
Channel interface cables with up to two switches are required.

For distances from 10 km to 30 km (6.2 to 18.6 miles), single-mode longwave Fibre
Channel interface cables with up to two switches are required.

For distances greater than 30 km, approved third-party channel extender products and
telecommunications lines are required.

Remote Web Console software and TrueCopy for Mainframe license code(s):

The Remote Web Console software is required for TrueCopy for Mainframe operations.
The TrueCopy for Mainframe software is a component of the Remote Web Console.

The TrueCopy for Mainframe license key code(s) are required to enable the TrueCopy
for Mainframe software on the XP storage system. Separate license codes are required
for each XP storage system.

Administrator or TrueCopy for Mainframe write access to the Remote Web Console software
is required to perform TrueCopy for Mainframe operations. Users without Administrator or
TrueCopy for Mainframe write access can only view TrueCopy for Mainframe information

You must operate the Remote Web Console software in Modify mode to perform TrueCopy
for Mainframe operations. Users in view mode can only view TrueCopy for Mainframe
information.

About the license of TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe:

To use TrueCopy for Mainframe Async, you must install not only TrueCopy Asynchronous for
Mainframe but also for TrueCopy for Mainframe. So, you need license codes for both TrueCopy
Asynchronous for Mainframe and TrueCopy for Mainframe. Also, the license capacity of
TrueCopy for Mainframe and the license capacity of TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe
must satisfy the following equation:

Duplicate VOLSER (Volume Serial Number)

Cache, NVS, and DASD fast write

Consistency groups

Restrictions on volumes
