8.1.4 Q: The Gauge appears to turn itself on and off, flicker repeatedly, or does not turn on
at all when the ignition is on.

A: Check the Gauge power and ground wire hook ups in the fuse box to ensure they are properly
seated in their respective sockets. In cases where terminal rings are used, ensure that the
terminal screws are properly fastened. If the problem persists, please contact your local
SmarTire

product representative.

Also check the 6-pin Deutsch connector at the back of the Gauge for any damage and a proper
fit. Unplug the connector and check the pins in the Gauge socket as well as on the connector.

Check the back of the 6-pin Deutsch connector for numbering.

Check the voltage on pin 1 to be either 12V or 24V when ignition is turned on using a Voltmeter.
In addition, locate the SmarTire

Receiver power supply splice in either the engine compartment

or in-cab fuse panel and also check for a 12V to 24V power supply during ignition on. When
checking the engine compartment for the power splice location, follow the receiver harness from
the frontal underbody up into the engine bay to identify on which side of the engine bay the splice
is located. Usual splice points are near headlight and auxiliary device cable looms.

light in front right corner of engine bay:
