8.2 SMARTIRE

RECEIVER Q&A

8.2.1 Q: The Gauge or Diagnostics software is not receiving any information from the
receiver.

A: Check to make sure the LED indicator light on the front of the receiver lights up when the
ignition is switched on. The receiver LED will turn on at the same time the ignition key is turned
and remain on for 2 seconds, then turn off or blink depending on its configuration. If the light
does not turn on at all, check the power supply connections and 5 Amp fuse, if installed, in the
fuse panel that connects to the receiver power line. If the receiver continues to be unresponsive,
please contact your local SmarTire

product representative.

Also, make sure that the CAN High (yellow) and CAN Low (Green) lines are properly connected
on the back of the Gauge, as well as on the Tyco P1 Superseal connector at the receiver.

Check to make sure the Tyco P1 Superseal connector is fully locked (top two, white tabs are
pushed all the way down and flush with the female 26 pin panel) and that it is completely seated
in the receiver (listen for the ‘Click’ of the locking tab as the connection is made). If the tabs are
not fully locked then the pins can be pushed back when the connector is engaged.
