3.19 Track Point Default

This option can be used to change the default setting for the Track Points in the registration record of
a new driver. Move the cursor to “Track Points Default” and press the ENTER key. Select “Enter
New Racers” and the track points field will be initialized to zero. Select “Do Not Enter New Racers”
and the track points field will be initialized to -1. When this field contains a value of -1, track points
are not accumulated for the driver.

3.20 Exit

Use the EXIT command to stop the CARS program and return to DOS. The EXIT command does not
close an event; the event that had been started will still be current when CARS is executed again.
However, information cannot be accepted from the timer when CARS is not operating.

3.21 Control

The control menu is the menu that will be used most during racing. From this menu, you can view
announcer information, change the round number, change the category, and start or finish the event.

3.22 View

This command displays the "View" screen on the monitor. With the view screen, you can view the
most recently received data from the C-33 or C-44 timer. During an event, CARS will pull up
information on the two current racers and display the information in the following format. This screen
is usually displayed during races.

Before the race, CARS receives the two vehicle numbers from the timer and displays the
corresponding driver registration information in the top two boxes of the view screen.

The times are displayed as they occur on the track for the vehicles that are racing. During elimination
rounds and after the first qualifying round is completed, the announcer can determine the qualifying
position of the vehicles racing from the QUAL field. The qualifying ET/SPEED for the qualifying
position is displayed directly under it.
