Cooling system

The firewall adopts left to right airflow for heat dissipation. To guarantee the performance of this cooling
system, you must consider the ventilation design for the installation site.

Figure 1 Airflow through the firewall chassis

Ensure an adequate clearance around the air intake vents and exhaust vents. A clearance of more
than 10 cm (3.94 in) is recommended.

Make sure the installation site is well ventilated.

ESD prevention

To prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD), note the following guidelines:

Make sure the firewall and the rack are well grounded.

Take dust-proof measures for the equipment room. For more information, see "

Cleanness

."

Maintain the humidity and temperature at a proper level. For more information, see "

Temperature

and humidity

."

Put cards away on an ESD-preventive workbench, with the PCB upward, or put them in
ESD-preventive bags for future use.

Always wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap and make sure the wrist strap makes good skin contact
and is well grounded when you install and remove a transceiver module.
