4 Press ‘Take’. The selected MD devices remain selected.

If you have not enabled ‘Hold’ mode,

1 Select an MD devices. Scroll the MD device list as needed.

2 Select a source.

3 Repeat steps 1 and 2 until your presets are complete.

4 Press ‘Take’. The selected MD devices become unselected.

A selection button displays (1) level data in X-Y mode or (2) destination (and source) mnemonics
in MD mode.

A selection button goes high-tally when its associated level or MD device is selected and low-
tally otherwise. A selection button is red when its MD device is locked or protected.

MD buttons that are uncommitted are dark and do not operate.

If there are more MD destinations than buttons, the up/down scroll buttons illuminate and you
can scroll through MD destinations. The panel scrolls modulo the number of selection buttons
visible. For instance, if your button page has 4 selection buttons, scrolling will show MD destina-
tions 1–4, 5–8, 9–12, and so on.

P

Source

A source button selects a source. (Note that a quick source button selects a source and also
performs an immediate take.)

Quick source and source buttons are similar, except that the quick source performs a take. Be
aware of which buttons are quick sources so you do not perform an accidental take.

The button text is the source device’s mnemonic.

See

Preset Release

on page 61.

P

Source/Destination

A source/destination button selects both a source and a destination and optionally performs an
immediate take. The take is an all-level take.

A configuration option governs source/destination buttons. When the option is enabled,
source/destination buttons perform an immediate take, without requiring the operator to press
a take button.

When the option is disabled, the button merely selects the source and destination (on all levels).
The operator must then press the take button.

By default, the button shows the source name and the destination name, but the configurer
may assign other text to the button.

Source is Master

During data (i.e., control) level takes, this button makes the source device the master. Otherwise,
the destination is the master.

The button is a toggle that reverses the direction of data routing. For example, if the destination
is the master and the source is the slave, pressing a ‘Source is Master’ button reverses their roles.

The ‘Source is Master’ button is used to initiate “broadcast” control routes. See

Broadcast Routes

on page 66.
