SETTING UP THE SHOOTING FUNCTION

METERING

• This button can be used to obtain the right exposure.

1. Rotate the mode dial to the SHOT mode.

2. Press the MENU button and press the UP ( ) / DOWN

( ) button to select [EXPOSURE].

3. Press the RIGHT ( ) button to select the [EV] sub

menu.

4. Press the UP ( ) / DOWN ( ) button to select

[METERING] and press the RIGHT ( ) button to select

the [METERING] sub menu.

5. Select the desired setting by pressing the UP ( ) /

DOWN ( ) button. After selecting the desired set-

ting, press the OK button to confirm the setting. The

default is FULL.

6. Press the MENU button to cancel the menu display.

• METERING mode indicator

-FULL

: Exposure will be calculated based on an average of the light

available in the whole image area.

-CENTER

: Exposure will be calculated based on an average of the light

available in the image area. However, the calculation will be

biased towards the center of the image area.

-SPOT

: Use this function when there is backlight or when photographing a

subject that has little contrast.

In backlighting conditions , adjust the light metering to suit the

subject matter.
