PC Connection

Class 1 FAX/Modem

The Class 1 fax/modem interface on your fax unit enables it to function as a Class 1 fax/modem
for any IBM-compatible computer, sending and receiving fax messages directly from your
computer. You can also use the interface to scan and print fax resolution quality documents.

The interface works with the following fax software:

WinFax Pro

LaserFax Class 1

It is possible to user other Class 1 computer software, however we cannot guarantee their
reliability.

Class 1 interface

A serial port (RS232C) connection is required for this to work.

PC end: in conformance with your PC

Machine end: 9-pin D-SUB male.

Setting up Class 1

To ensure your machine can work with the Class 1 software correctly, make sure the number of
telephone rings setting in your machine is greater then the setting in Class 1 soft ware.

Most Class 1 software setting the number of rings=2, so you have to set your machine to a greater
number of rings. For example: 6.
