ESCRIPTION

:

The TRIAL CLOSE function is used during the
daily close procedure. It does the same thing as
DAY CLOSE, except that the totals are not
cleared.

The report printed by the TRIAL CLOSE is used
to balance your Cash Dispenser before you
actually balance with your processor. It contains
information obtained from the processor and
information that is obtained from the terminal
itself.

Typically, you would do a TRIAL CLOSE to get
the totals from the Cash Dispenser.

The report shows the total number of customer
transactions (Withdrawals, Inquiries and
Transfers) recorded by the host processor and the terminal since the last Day Close was performed.
The two-column format allows the host and terminal totals in each category to be easily compared.
The ‘Settlement $’ value is the host processor’s record of the total currency dispensed from the
terminal since the last Day Close was performed.

A call to the processor host computer is required to complete the operation. If the call to the host is
not completed successfully, a warning (***HOST TOTALS NOT RECEIVED***) will be printed
on the report.
