Performing Common Administrative Tasks

Powering Off the Server Blade

CAUTION: Without the server blade health driver or an ACPI-compliant operating
system, the Integrated Administrator cannot gracefully shutdown a server blade. This
condition may result in the permanent loss of critical data.

CAUTION: Rebooting or powering off the server blade removes all power from the
server blade and ends all open sessions.

IMPORTANT: This task can only be performed for a given server blade bay by enclosure
administrators and group administrators with access rights to the server blade bay.

To reboot or power off the server blade using the Web-based user interface:

1. Click the Bays tab.

2. Click Bay List in the left panel.

3. Click the server blade whose power state you wish to modify.

4. Click Virtual Buttons at the bottom of the screen.
