ing safety and maintenance of the instrument.

1. Important Information
1.2 Designated use
The Leica ST4040 is an automated linear stainer
for the preparation of histological and cytologi-
cal routine stainings.
It is designed for use in pathology laboratories,
and only for performing the following tasks:
• Staining of thin sections of tissue specimens
or of cytological samples, attached to micro-
scope slides
Any use of the instrument other than its de-
signated use is considered improper.
