Entering Message Text

You can now enter message text. The message text area contains 16 blocks
(20 characters/block). The maximum message length is 320 characters.

After saving the message attributes, the first message block (of 20 characters)
is highlighted.

Message Block 1

(20 characters/block)

To enter new message text:

1. Enter message text starting in block 1. The DL20 automatically centers

the message for display so you don’t need to enter extra spaces.

As you type text into the next block that block is highlighted.

The following keys are valid while entering or editing a message.

Press this Key:

To:

[

] or [PgDn] or [CTR] [J]

Move forward one block.

[

] or [PgUp] or [CTR] [K]

Move back one block.

[Ins]

Insert one space character moving all charac-
ters to the right one position.

[

] or [Ctrl] [H]

Move cursor to the left one position.

[

] or [Ctrl][L]

Move cursor to the right one position.

[Del] or [Ctrl] [D]

Delete character at cursor position
shifting the entire message left one position.

[Ctrl] [A]

Edit the message attributes.

[Esc]

Abort the current message and return to the
Message Number prompt.

[End] or [Ctrl] [Q]

Save the message to a MSG####.DAT
file and return to the Message Number prompt.
