ControLinX and the General Purpose Driver

You can control other devices or subsystems using one-way RS232 or IR. A ControLinX in an MLA4000
provides two choices for the general purpose driver: either serial (RS232) or IR. It also provides two sets of
screens to edit depending on which type of driver you choose.

The following subsections discuss the General Purpose Driver/Serial and the General Purpose Driver/IR.

General Purpose Driver/Serial

To edit ControLinX settings for the General Purpose Driver/Serial, complete the following steps:

1.

Connect the ControLinX with the external system using the 3.5mm to RS232 cable.
