Replacing the CD/Diskette Drive

CAUTION:

Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system cover and access any of

the components inside the system. See your System Information Guide for complete information about

safety precautions, working inside the computer, and protecting against electrostatic discharge.

1. Align the CD/diskette drive with the opening in the side of the peripheral bay.

2. Press the CD/diskette drive assembly firmly into the side of the peripheral bay and slide the assembly towards the back

of the peripheral bay until the release latch snaps into place (see

Figure 4-18

).

3. Replace the peripheral bay into the system chassis (see "

5. Replace the bezel (see "

6. Reconnect your system and peripherals to their electrical outlets, and turn on the system.

3. Disconnect the chassis intrusion switch cable connector on the system board.

4. Grasp and slide the switch toward the center of the front panel until it comes free of its slot (see

Figure 4-19

).
