4. Connect the communications wiring to Port 2.
• EIA-232, 2-wire
Connect to Tx, Rx, DTR, DCD, and Gnd using three wire termination with pins 3 and 4 jumpered.
Wiring must go plus-to-minus and minus-to-plus, Gnd-to-Gnd.
Wire Specifications:
• 18–28 AWG; twisted pair preferable
• 50 feet (15.24 meters) maximum length
NOTE
DO NOT POWER THE DEVICE FROM THE SAME TRANSFORMER
THAT POWERS THE XPC.
