Calibrating your System for ORL Testing
To perform an ORL calibration:
1. If the System menu is grayed out, that means no test has been created
since the application was started. Consequently, no calibration can be
performed until you start a new test. For more information, see Starting
a New Test on page 118.
2. Select Return Loss Calibration from the System menu of the main
window.
3. Connect an ORL reference test jumper to the specified port.
4. When you are satisfied with the displayed value in the WRM
monitoring box, click Start.
5. Mandrel the reference test jumper as specified in the calibration
instructions section and click Start.
6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for each switch port. The connection information
section provides you with the number of the switch port on which
calibration must be performed.
7. When you are done with ORL calibration, simply click Close to return
to the main window.
Note: The zone labeled Instructions guides you through the whole ORL
calibration process.
