Configuration of the IK 115 — transmission parameters
To keep the encoder cable as variable as possible and
nevertheless minimize the transmission time for absolute
values, you can change several transmission parameters
depending on the encoder interface.
EnDat encoders
For EnDat encoders, the transmission frequency can be
changed within the range of 100 kHz to 2 MHz.
In addition, you can choose between continuous or interrupted
clock pulse modes of position value transfer.
If you use the continuous clock mode, the subsequent
electronics cannot interrogate status information from the
encoder’s EPROM. The “continuous clock” configuration is
not possible during a concurrent comparison of position
values from the incremental and absolute interfaces.
SSI encoders
For SSI encoders, the transmission frequency can be changed
only within the range of 100 kHz to 1 MHz.
Other settings are not possible.
