Customer-specific datum shift
In EnDat encoders the customer can shift the datum. This
makes it possible to adapt the encoder to a specific machine
axis. To shift the datum:
 Position the encoder to the point for the new datum.
 Select [ Encoder > Datum shift >
Shift to current Position ].
This position data window indicates when the datum has been
shifted. However, the value in the memory area for the datum
shift will not be updated until you have reloaded the data from
the encoder. In the simplest case, this is possible with the
button.
A customer-specific datum shift can be canceled again with [
Encoder > Datum shift > Undo ].
After the datum shift, the current position does not
necessarily coincide with the absolute datum, since the
program calculates the new datum so that its position
complies with the EnDat specification regarding incremental
signals.
