EnDat — Encoder Configuration
Absolute HEIDENHAIN encoders with EnDat interface have an
internal encoder configuration memory. The layout of the
configuration memory and the meaning of the individual data
words is described in the interface specification entitled "EnDat
Interface: Bidirectional synchronous serial interface for position
encoders." This specification is available from HEIDENHAIN as
a separate document. This Manual therefore does not provide
explanations of the individual memory areas and data words.
Loading the encoder configuration
From the encoder
You can load the configuration of an encoder through [ File >
Load encoder configuration > From Encoder ] or the associated
button in the tool bar

From a file
If however you wish to load a file from a file, you must use [
File > Load encoder configuration > From File ] or the
associated button in the tool bar
