6.3 AC Grid Connection for MV Stations

The connection concept for two Sunny Central HE inverters is factory provided in the Sunny Central
MV station. In the MV station, the AC grid connection is made 3-phase to the high-voltage winding of
a 3-phase current-rectifying medium-voltage transformer. Connection is made using externally conical
plugs to be made on-site.

Earths and Short-Circuits of the High-Voltage Side of the Medium-Voltage
Transformer

• Grounding and short-circuiting of the medium-voltage transformer high-voltage side is made in

the customer side upstream medium-voltage switching station.

• The grounding and short-circuiting of the medium-voltage transformer undervoltage side occurs

on the Sunny Central at the AC fuse load disconnection unit. For this purpose, a respective
grounding and short-circuiting device can be delivered upon request.

• The set is connected to the grounding cable, then set into the fuse load disconnection unit and

closed.

• The grounding cable is located in the labeled cable channel of the AC cabinet.

WARNING!
Risk of death due to burns and electric shock when live parts of the power
distribution grid are touched!

• Do not touch the live components of the Sunny Central, the power distribution grid or

the low-voltage grid.

• All safety precaution measures regarding the power distribution grid must be

observed.

• Only work on the device when it is switched off and voltage-free.

Optional grounding and short-circuiting device
A grounding and short-circuit device can be ordered as an optional accessory.
