Solve common printer problems.
You can also get help from the HP Smart app and printer control panel:

Update the printer
HP periodically releases firmware updates to enhance product functionality and fix issues.
By default, if the printer (Wi-Fi models) or the connected computer has Internet connection, the printer
automatically checks for updates at regular intervals.
To update the printer manually, follow the instructions in the next sections.
HP Smart (Wi-Fi models)
1. Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. If prompted, create or sign in to an HP
account.
2. On the home screen of HP Smart, select your printer. If need, click or tap Printer Settings.
3. Select Advanced Settings.
This opens the printer home page (EWS) in a Web browser.
4. In EWS, click or tap Tools.
5. Click or tap Printer Updates.
6. Select Firmware Updates and follow the onscreen instructions.
Download from the HP support website
1. Make sure the printer is on and connected to your computer.
2. Visit the HP support website on your computer.
3. Locate your product to download and install the latest firmware.
The embedded web server (EWS) (Wi-Fi models)
You can update the printer or change the settings from EWS for network printers.
