Image Representation on the 3D Card
The image area on the 3D card is divided into four seg-
ments:
– Reference segment (sagittal view)
– Reference segment (coronal view)
– Reference segment (transversal view)
– Output segment

The first three segments are reference segments, the
fourth segment is an output segment. In the three ref-
erence segments the images are first shown in the
views that are parallel and perpendicular to the direc-
tion of scanning.

By turning and moving the views you can define the
position and orientation of the plane that is to be used
as the reference image for the reconstruction of
images or series.

The reference segments are used to display different
views of the volume data set, while the reference dis-
play (the view) is used as a reference for a 3D-recon-
struction.

The images and series generated by various tools on
the basis of the reference image are displayed in the
output segment.

To find the best suitable reference image for planning
reconstruction of images and series, you can freely
rotate and move all three views.
