3.1.3 Outer Boom Replacement
a. Removal
1. Refer to paragraphs 3.1.1.a and 3.1.2.a and
remove the inner and intermediate booms.
2. Disconnect and remove the retract chain from
the outer boom. Check the condition of the
chain and replace if worn or damaged.
3 Refer to paragraph 9.5.4.a and remove the
boom extend/retract cylinder.
4. Refer to Fig. 3.7 and remove the locknut and
capscrew that secures the slave cylinder rod
end pin. Remove the pin. Check the condition
of the bearing in the cylinder rod end; replace
bearing if worn or damaged.
5. Refer to Fig. 3.8 and disconnect the grille tilt
cylinder hoses from the tubing at the hose
guides and remove the hoses from the boom.
