5. On the frame-mounted control, press the exclusive control toggle button.
6. If the load frame is not equipped with an enclosure, press the High-Power Prohibit button on the
frame-mounted control. This prevents high power from being applied to the actuator when working in
the test space.
7. Open the lower grip. If applicable, use the lower pneumatic grip control toggle button to open the lower
grip. Hold the specimen using appropriate tools, such as tongs, within the grip wedges and press the
lower pneumatic grip control Close button.
8. Using the actuator positioning buttons on the frame-mounted control, raise or lower the actuator as
necessary to position the upper grip on the specimen. Once the specimen is adequately positioned
within the grip, close the grip.
9. Optional: If you are using the Frame-Mounted Control and additional tuning is not required, use the
Frame-Mounted Control to switch to force or displacement control mode. This action turns specimen
protection off.
10. Toggle the exclusive control to release control to the MP software.
11. Switch the state of actuator power to Power High. This action turns specimen protection off.
12. The specimen is now ready for Tune for Specimen or, if the tuning is already correct, for testing.
