Shows the current control mode.

Active Mode

Select the type of command:

Command Type

Cyclic—The function cycles at the specified amplitude and frequency.

Sweep—The function sweeps the command signal between the specified
frequency limits at the rate specified.

Random—The function sweeps randomly according to the amplitude and
frequency limits you specify.

Specify the setpoint that the signal s amplitude centers on.

Target Setpoint

The initial ramp time to the Target Setpoint is specified as a command option
in the Station Manager application (Tools menu > Channel Options > Channel
Options window > Command Options tab > Setpoint/Span times > Setpoint).

Target Setpoint ramp times are proportional to the full scale. If the value has
less distance to travel, the execution time will be correspondingly less than
the specified time.

Appears on the Generate Command panel for a Command Type of Cyclic,
Random, and Sweep.

Amplitude

The amplitude specified here applies equally to both sides of the Target
Setpoint
.

Appears on the Generate Command panel for a Command Type of Cyclic
and Sweep.

Frequency

The maximum frequency specified here is limited to 20% of the high system
clock rate. During a Sweep, this control's pointer tracks the sweep frequency.

Specify the shape of the signal. The shape determines whether the command
rate between each end level Wave Shape is a constant linear rate (as with
ramp shape) or a varying rate (as with sine shape). The choices are:

Wave Shape

Square

Ramp

Sine

Square Tapered

Ramp Tapered

Sine Tapered

Specify whether a compensator is used to enhance performance. A
compensator is a control technique that improves the tracking and accuracy

Compensator

of your controller and optimizes system response. Only one compensator can
be applied.
