Using the Menus: Dell PowerVault 136T LTO Library User's Guide

The Operator Panel provides a menu driven operator interface to the PowerVault 136T LTO Library. The menus allow selection of parameters and
information regarding the status and current operating parameters of the PowerVault 136T LTO Library.

 Using the Operator Panel Menu

NOTE: The information menus are not dynamically updated. To view changes, reselect the menu.

Each menu is accessible through the Operator Panel push buttons. Refer to

Operator Panel

for an illustration and definition of the push buttons. An

illustration of the menu tree mapping is located on

Figure 1

Menu Guidelines

All menus and respective options are grouped according to function. Some options are followed by special characters. The special characters
following the softkey menu titles are described below.

A keyword leading to another menu is suffixed by a small black arrow. Example: >

l

A keyword leading to a dialog box is suffixed with three closely spaced dots. Example: ...

l

A keyword leading to an immediate action has no suffix.

Most fields on the menus, submenus, dialogs, and screens are read only. Those fields that are read/write are shown in reverse video. During
Export operations, cartridge selection is also indicated by reverse video. Example:

 Using Commands That Require an Offline State

Those commands listed under the Commands and Service softkey menus require that the library be in an offline state. If any such commands are
attempted while the library is in an online state, the operator will be requested to take the library offline with the following dialogs. A NOTE box, as
shown below, can be found on the appropriate menu description page. The originating command is completed once the PowerVault 136T LTO
Library is OFFLINE.
