LED Color

Status

Description

IN (input)

Green

Steady on

Power is being correctly input.

Off

The power module is absent or has input voltage error.

OUT (output) Green

Steady on

The power module is correctly outputting power.

Off

The power module has output voltage error or is absent.

FAIL (fault)

Red

Steady on

The power module is experiencing an overvoltage, overcurrent, or
over-temperature condition.

Off

The power module is operating correctly or absent.

When the input/output LEDs are off or the fault LEDs are on, the power module does not operate

correctly.
To troubleshoot the power supply system:

1.

Examine the power cord connections. If a power cord is loose, re-plug the power cord.

2.

Replace the power cord, and verify that the LEDs are normal.

3.

Examine the power module installation. If the power module is not fully seated, re-install the power
module to make sure it makes close contact with the backplane of the router.

4.

Examine the power source. Make sure the power source is operating correctly and provides a
normal voltage.

5.

Verify that the power module has not encountered output short circuit, output over-current, output
over-voltage, input under-voltage, or over-temperature problems.

6.

Power off the router, plug the power module into an empty power module slot, and verify that the
power module can operate correctly. If the power module can operate correctly, the power

module slot might have failed. Otherwise, proceed with the next step.

7.

Plug a new power module of the same model into the same power module slot, and connect it to
the same power source. If the new power module can operate correctly, the old power module
fails. Contact the agents to replace the old power module.
