The Manage Drivers/Firmware feature allows you to check the status of drivers, agents, and firmware on
HP Netservers. You can then download and update software remotely in the same manner used for PC systems.
Refer to the toptools online help for additional information.

hp netserver Subsystems

Clicking on an HP Netserver will display a subsystem map for the server containing icons for each of the major
server subsystems. When traps are sent by the Netserver and received by NNM, the event will be listed in the NNM
alarm browser and colors will change on the respective subsystem icon to indicate status (i.e. red for critical severity
events). Status conditions associated with a subsystem icon are propagated up to the Netserver icon on the main
map according to the propagation rules configured for the map.

The Netserver subsystem icons are:

Automatic Server Restart Subsystem – Shows the status of server restart actions.

Disk Subsystem – Shows the status of the disk drives.

NIC Card Subsystem – Shows the status of the network interface.

System Hardware Environment Subsystem – Shows the status of system hardware.

Predictive Failure Monitoring Subsystem – Indicates probability of future failure.

Subsystem icon status colors always represent the severity of the most recent trap received. To check for the cause
in status change, select the Netserver node object on the map, right-mouse click to bring up the context menu and
select “Alarms”.
