Figure 5-21. HP Netserver subsystem icons associated with Netservers.

To acknowledge status on the map for the subsystem icon (to indicate that you are aware of the problem), right
mouse click on the subsystem icon and select the item ‘reset status’. This will return the subsystem icon status back
to green (normal).

If you do not wish to view status changing on the map (subsystem icons) you may use the Event Configuration tool
in NNM to edit Netserver traps and remove the action item for “nsaAgentStatus.exe”. Upon removing the
nsaAgentStatus.exe action item, events will still appear in the Alarm Browser, but will not change colors on the
map.

If your map is configured for transience at all levels, you may receive a message such as the following:

This is caused by nsaAgentStatus trying to change the subsystem icon status color when it is not in memory. To
prevent this message from appearing, you can:

• Make your submaps persistent

• Create a persistence filter to make all HP Netservers persistent

• Remove the nsaAgentStatus action from the trap configuration

For more information on persistence and filtering in NNM, consult Section 9 of this manual and the HP OpenView
Network Node Manager Guide to Scalability.
