8 Installed MIBs

A list of the device MIBs installed with the bridge is given in Table 10. Note that this list will vary as newer MIBs
are released. You should check the appropriate HP web sites for new MIBs for the devices that you manage.
On NNM-NT/WINDOWS 2000 installations the MIBs will be installed in OpenView\snmp_mibs. On NNM-HPUX
and Solaris systems the location of MIB files will vary.

9 Table 9. MIBs added to OpenView NNM by platform bridge.

10 Creating Filters for hp devices

NNM offers filtering to enable users to define which devices and/or networks to discover, which objects in one
NNM server database should be exported to another, which objects should be displayed in a particular map, and
which map objects should remain persistent in memory.

However, only a subset of 'attributes' identified by NNM are directly available as criteria for filtering (Defined in “A
Guide To Scalability and Distribution for HP OpenView Network Node Manager” Appendix A).

To enable filtering of additional attributes such as those that are added by the platform bridge (e.g. isHPDevice or
isHPKayak), an environment variable must be set on the NNM management server.

To set the environment variable on an NNM-NT management servers:

Right-click the “My Computer” icon on the desktop and select “Properties”. Then click the “Environment” tab and
enter information as shown below:
