Install the latest cumulative PTF fix pack or tape for the system.

PTF 41993, which is available from IBM, provides a fix for out of paper

responses from the printer.

1.

Set up and start the TCP/IP network:

Create a Token-Ring or an Ethernet line description for the printer
using

CRTLINTRN

or

CRTLINETH

.

Add a TCP/IP interface using

ADDTCPIFC

.

Add a router definition, if required, using

ADDTCPRTE

.

Start TCP/IP using

STRTCP

.

Create a printer device description using

CRTDEVPRT

(see steps below and the

example on page 101).

Note:

Only the required fields are listed below.

At the command line, type:

CRTDEVPRT

and press <F4>. Enter the following

information:

Device description

OPTRA

(User defined name)

Device class

*RMT

Device type

*IPDS

Device model
